RAÚL RUIZ
Born in Málaga's Trinidad neighborhood, he was interested
in the world of dance from very early on.
In his hometown he studied classical ballet and Spanish classical
dance at the Real Conservatorio de Música y Danza. At the same time he
honed his skills with the help of teachers María Pérez and Trinidad
Santiago.
His professional debut came at the age of sixteen at Málaga's
Teatro Cervantes in Manuel de Falla's "Sombrero de Tres Picos" in the
role of the miller where he enjoyed his first success which lead him on to be
invited as guest artist with Verona's Philharmonic Ballet with the opera Carmen
with which he toured the major national and international capitals such as Madrid,
Seville, Zurich, Munich, Manchester, Athens... Later on he worked with the ballets
of Luisillo, Rafael Aguilar and La Tati.
He won the Premio Nacional Mediterráneo de Danza and as
a result was able to direct his own group which he took to numerous flamenco festivals
along with artists such as Chano Lobato, Rancapino, Remedios Amaya...
At the invitation of José Triguera he recently participated
in Madrid's Festival de Otoño in Antonio el Pipa's company in the show
"De Cai, el Baile" which premiered at the Sixth Festival de Jerez.
