main foundations for flamenco guitar, he was a gypsy guitarist that started working
as a professional before his twenties and very soon he achieved a recognosible

Ramón
Montoya Salazar
Ramón
Montoya worked for more than a decade with the singer
Antonio Chacón, but Montoya is better known by his creativity, he was the
first "tocaor" to make a repertoire for flamenco guitar as a soloist instrument,
( the first time he played alone in front of a big audience was in Paris 1934).
This way the flamenco guitar became a lead instrument, not just an accompanion
to the voice. Since then Ramón Montoya generated an unstoppable
interest in flamenco guitar and its new technical and compositive possibilities.
He was the first to introduce musical virtuosism to the world of flamenco.

This
is a remastering from old recordings so the sound quality is not very good because
it is taken from the original ten inch records of a private collection and this
records make a lot of noise (they are eighty years old) but this an historic document,
an incredible opportunity to listen to the music of this great master of toque
and to comprehend the evolution of flamenco guitar.
