Flamenco-world.com has been and is the window to the world of flamenco; it’s a reference. How many promoters, managers, festivals... haven’t resorted to Flamenco-world when they’ve needed a photo or a résumé?

They’ve also been pioneers in that a fan from anywhere in the world has access to the purchase of a CD, a box drum, some shoes, a book... which used to be impossible to get.

So after 10 years I just want to congratulate Flamenco-world for its collaboration in spreading our art form.

If Tío Borrico knew that flamenco is "virtually posted on the Net" it’s possible that he might thing that "virtually posted on the Net" is the name of a tavern or an inn which he didn’t know
... nor do I know what he’d think of the flamenco itself which is heard on the Net nowadays, whether it is cante accompanied by a strange drum ?? (the box drum)
or a flamenco guitar with a symphony orchestra ??
or a Japanese singing ?? Camarón’s songs ??
or a guy playing his cantes por soleá on his saxophone ??
but... once you’ve approached his way of singing
it’s easy to think that "Tío Borrico" would surely have imagination for that and perhaps for more...
I myself, even in the most feverish lucubrations of my early youth, could not have imagined "something" like "www.flamenco-world.com"
I, who recognize my great vocation for traveling unknown, unexplored roads,
... what is called being a "pioneer"
I intuitively recognize my "adventure" mates
"www.flamenco-world.com" have been pioneers in this business of flamenco on the Net... for ten years now !!!
Thanks for accompanying us in this adventure
Thanks for voicing to the world our findings, our anxieties, feelings, certainties, glories, miseries and helping us to fill our fridge as we...
Congratulations to all of you who work there and may neither age nor success make you lose that flair which brought you this far!!!

Times have changed and without realizing it, for ten years now, our habits of information as well. Our daily flamenco reference is Flamenco-world.com. I remember in my early days, anxiously waiting for the flamenco page on Sundays in the Diario Córdoba, then the section dedicated to flamenco in the Día de Córdoba, every month the magazine Sevilla Flamenca… Now thanks to some “crazies” who started to post news on what we began to call “the Net”, we find out everything and in record time. Computers don’t do miracles. For us to have this information updated, these “crazies”, called thus with all my respect and affection, are constantly at the heart of the news: records, festivals, concerts... I think we all have to congratulate ourselves for these 10 years of information and the spread of our flamenco culture, and since I’m a team man, I now have another member in my musical career besides my musicians, manager and technicians. I have the accurate, detailed information from Flamenco-world.com.
Congratulations! Take good care of yourselves, flamenco internauts

Just a few years ago, establishing a relationship between the words flamenco and the Internet was nearly snobbishly extravagant. Now, however, you are celebrating the 10th anniversary of your website, Flamenco-world.com, which has been and undoubtedly is of great use to improve the spread and understanding of our music all over the world through the extraordinary possibilities of a medium like the Internet.

My sincerest congratulations and encouragement to keep going, just like your valiant and very necessary venture to create a record label in times so little favorable.

Best wishes to all from

Juan Carlos Romero

To speak of Flamenco-world.com is to speak of work, devotion, dedication, study, reliability, depth... but above all, love and respect for this so wonderful art form which is Flamenco, and what’s more important, for those of us artists, professionals and enthusiasts who live devoted to it.

Flamenco-world.com is an open window to the world through which, in my own specific case, as a bailaora, I have been able to discover a horizon of possibilities, where information, learning, knowledge of this art form, of its artists and creators, instructors, producers... have deeply marked the development and evolution of my artistic and professional life.

Therefore, Flamenco-world.com, and above all, the crew of people who bring it alive, are an essential part of my own experience as a person and artist. Because since it was born ten years ago, they have accompanied me and encouraged me to go on dancing, working, dreaming...

Health and Freedom, friends!!!

Affectionately,

María del Mar Moreno

After these 10 years, I think that flamenco, among other things, is changing its habits. Flamencos don’t debate on corners or in bars; now as soon as they get up they turn on their computer and if they want to know something about flamenco, then they surf the Net to find something about the subject. Thanks to Flamenco-world.com we’ve had a reference with regards to daily news related to flamenco. Do you all remember how interesting the forum was? Of course, it was nice while it lasted; what a shame. We also have record news, and above all, news with regards to the shows which are scheduled. I hope you all feel the same way that I do about these such interesting initiatives for the spread of this so beautiful art form. Thanks to this website, flamenco enthusiasts in other countries are up-to-date on information about flamenco and have the latest news.

Long live this kind of initiative and may these 10 years (surely also of suffering) turn into another 10 years of relief.

Pedro Sierra, humble flamenco guitarist trying to make a living.

Congratulations!

Sincerely,

Pedro Sierra

Raúl Rodríguez (Son de la Frontera)

In these ten years, we’ve all lived a very interesting evolution in our lives and our music, and in Flamenco we can also feel that passing of time, so dizzying and so revolutionary. Today we’re at one of those hinges of time which separates and joins the analogical world, the oral one, from the digital world, dominated by the use of cybernetic technology, and it’s very important, in such a strong cultural step in which the communication codes and messages which tradition bring us are transformed, to be able to transport them towards the future with certainty and a live pulse, which doesn’t betray the fundamental of our styles and which transfers popular knowledge towards a contemporary language which we use to communicate hereafter: knowing who we are, from the knowledge of who we were towards the discovery and the construction of what we will be. In that process which we all experience, the work of people who devote their time and their affection to spreading flamenco culture on the Internet is fundamental, along a road creative and informative at the same time which can set up many of the bases that will serve us to go on training and evolving without losing sight of the roots. As the poet Veneno says, "looking at the sky, with your feet in the flowerpot ".

There, Flamenco-World’s work has always seemed exemplary to me, very dedicated and attentive to what is happening, with the criteria of supporting quality shows, and with independence and affection, working to help us, among all of us, to understand one another better. My gratitude, as a reader and an artist, to your work, friends. Keep going, for there’s a lot of beautiful music waiting to be brought to the memory of the future.

My sincerest congratulations to all of you who make it possible for Flamenco to reach the remotest corner in the world and congratulations for Flamenco-World’s tenth anniversary.

I, personally, am a follower of your website. And since I don’t have enough time to go and see my colleagues - since we put on an average of two hundred shows per year - thanks to websites like Flamenco-world.com I feel much more informed on each thing that’s being done in flamenco, each new show presented by my colleagues, the opinion of many of them, the old-time artist and the one just getting started, etc…

Congratulations!!!! Affectionately

Sara Baras
