SPECIAL FEATURE. FLAMENCO-WORLD.COM’S 10TH
ANNIVERSARY
Texts & greetings by top flamenco artists
My congratulations for the web’s
10th anniversary. I’m grateful for this chance to
recognize the great work you do following and reporting
on the most important events of this art form. Through
your website, both artists and fans alike can easily keep
abreast of what’s currently happening: albums, shows,
festivals, etc. If it weren’t for your work, flamenco
would be relegated to a local following … a very
sad fate since the family of enthusiasts is broader and
broader and knows no borders.

For me personally, the web has allowed
me to make my company’s latest shows known through
reviews, videos and interviews. It’s really gratifying
after the effort made to present a show, to see it reflected
in press with widespread readership.
I visit the website often to be up-to-date
with the profession. I really enjoy the artists’
encyclopedia part. I read about the origins and careers
of current and old-time artists and I listen to a lot
of audios.
Once again I congratulate you because
I’ve seen first-hand the work you do, which isn’t
easy.
Thanks to you, many people can enjoy
this art form.
Keep up with your force and so much enthusiasm.
May you be around for many years to come!
Best wishes

Thank you for your involvement and
projects which are now realities. Laurels for the crew
at Flamenco-world; you well deserve it.
I desire you the greatest, little angels.
I’ve always thought your pages had more blood than
flesh; and I’m not mistaken.
Flamenco needed your birth, and you’ve
grown strong and healthy, clean, without fabrications...
without intentions to offend, and with the sole aim to
build... inform... help. What more can you ask for?
We were eager for people like you, and
I can only tell you thanks, and with a great OLÉ!
sing “Happy Birthday” to you... and may there
be many, many, many more...
To Flamenco-world, with all my affection
and admiration.
To you...
Your eyes
must have really burnt you
to say
that you’ve looked at the Sun.
Your neck
must have really hurt you
to state
that you’ve looked upwards.
You must have spent
many nights
gazing up at the sky
even to suggest
that you can make out a star.
You must have gotten seasick
some time
to boast you’re a good sailor.
You must have stripped the petals
off many roses
to say that you found
the true one...
You must have wasted
a lot of time
if perchance you’ve realized
the value it has inside.
And you must have felt
many things
to know what a poem is.
But above all,
above all this...
you must have cried a lot,
-a lot-
to know what flamenco is.
And though you might not believe it,
you never cry enough...

I imagine the early days were really,
really hard. People who didn’t believe in this kind
of work and much less that it would benefit flamenco,
how complicated it is to become known, to gain credibility,
to inform knowledgeably and accurately, to get us flamencos
to open our doors to you... Well, now you’ve become
a “must”, our daily bread, friends and many
other things, beneficial to flamenco, this art form which
we all love.
Best wishes,
Arcángel

Every time I wanted to see what was happening in flamenco,
read reviews, see photos of myself or of colleagues (you
take the best ones!), look for courses..., there you were,
with a new regard, making room for all of us, with affection
and accuracy in equal shares. Your dedication, together
with a good sense of humor uncommon in flamenco, has made
you our favorites. May it be so for many years to come!

To all of you making up the team at Flamenco-world,
I want to congratulate you at the same time as thanking
you for these ten years of work. Beautiful, hard work
through which you’ve managed to spread our great
artists’ history, daily news and biography to every
corner in the world … You’re “servants
of the past and present with a new voice”.
I’ll celebrate each period in which
you act as ambassadors of this great world which is Flamenco.
Congratulations
Dorantes

Flamenco-world.com is now a universal
reference for artists, professionals and enthusiasts.
Every time I go in, I’m amazed by the so extensive
catalogue of CDs, DVDs and other products, but beside
its commercial side, you have to recognize the magazine’s
encyclopedic work with regards to the history of flamenco,
its origins and the great figures who have marked its
development.
On the other hand, not to be disdained
is its accessibility for fans through the different opinion
forums which appear in it. It’s really important
to me what the average person thinks and feels when he
listens to or sees flamenco; it’s wonderful to know
that flamenco is listened to in Armenia or Croatia, besides
in the Basque Country or Galicia... In short, Flamenco-world.com
shows on a small scale how the world wide web has united
the global community. The global community of flamenco
gathers and unites at this site, so I congratulate you
on your 10th anniversary.
Kind regards to all,
Estrella

All work done with unconditional love, care, perseverance
and pampering attests to what your website means nowadays
to the world’s flamencos where flamenco itself sails
from container to contents, making the experience something
personal. I hope these ten years are the first of a timeless
experience like flamenco is.
