Compás sui generis

They are flamencos who have taken pop rock as one of their styles, but so personal that they deserve a separate mention. Diego Carrasco and Tomasito have the compás of Jerez as their native tongue, but a great desire to soar. Diego Carrasco started off by being the guitarist Tete accompanying on baile, but he wanted to say something more. ‘Voz de referencia’ is the album containing his manifesto, although his relentless creativity hasn't let up on all his records so far. How is it possible that without being a great cantaor, he moves people when singing seguiriyas? Don't miss him live. Or Tomasito. And besides singing, he also dances. And he's neither a cantaor nor a bailaor. He is also accompanied live by a band between rock and flamenco, and on his records he has such ingenious songs as ‘Soleá punk’ and ‘Torrotrón’, which provided the name for his first album. Two phenomena.
