Hindu reminiscences
cannot be denied neither by theoreticians nor by artists
themselves. To better explain them Abulhasam Alí
Ben Nafí (Ziryab), a court musician from Baghdad
employed during the caliphate in Cordoba of Abderraman II
(822-852 ac), is often mentioned. It also possesses Syrian
and Persian influences. The Black Bird was a subject of
study for investigators and an inspiration for artists.
In fact, Paco de Lucia dedicated his album “Ziryab”
(1990) to the Black Bird.
