Though just a few months ago he premiered ‘Dos voces para un baile’, Javier Barón has set off on a new adventure. The Sevillian bailaor has chosen Festival de Jerez 2007 to present his new show ‘Meridiana’, “where rhythm is present through an intense, stimulating game”. Javier Patino, Tino di Geraldo, Juan José Amador and Tomasito take part in this show, which premieres at the Teatro Villamarta on February 25th.

“I don’t want to have to do without making the ideas going around in my head materialize”. Moved by this constant restlessness, Javier Barón gets down to work once again. At Festival de Jerez 2007, the Sevillian bailaor and choreographer is to present his new creation ‘Meridiana’, a show tackling the concept of time.

In this large-scale show he again has a dance corps. Bailaoras Manuela Ríos, Ana Morales and Leilah Broukhim accompany the artist from Alcalá de Guadaira in the challenge to practice “a continuous search through different flamenco styles which reflect specific consubstantial moments to human beings’ very behavior”.

The company consists of a carefully-selected group of musicians, since as the bailaor says, “I’m really whimsical about the artists I want to work with”. The music is the work of Jerez-born guitarist Javier Patino, who will play live together with Ramón Amador. Juan José Amador, Miguel Ortega and Jesús Méndez will be on cante, while the percussion will be taken care of by Tino di Geraldo and Luis Amador. The group of artists is completed by violinist Alexis Lefèvre and Tomasito, who appears as guest artist.

Javier Barón, a usual instructor of the courses, hadn’t come to the Teatro Villamarta since he presented ‘Notas al pie’ in the 2005 edition. Two years earlier, he presented his acclaimed ‘Dime’, a special tribute to Lorca in which Manuel Soler and Diego Carrasco took part, among other artists.
