Falseta is the specific part of guitar in which a melodic musical composition is developed with which color, character or ambience is given, and which is among the bases of accompaniment of any flamenco style.
Iñaki Bolón García, Argentina

Falseta is a little staccato, plucking, chord combination... unaccompanied by cante, which is carried out for both ornamental purposes and to give the cantaor some time to catch his breath.
José Ángel, Spain

Falseta is a melodic line performed on flamenco guitar at the beginning, in the interlude or at the end of a musical piece, where the performer demonstrates his technical skills, whether they be of composition or improvisation.
Guillermo Espinosa, Venezuela

Falseta is a part of the musical flamenco structure where toque shows its personality, through which the guitarist's style might even be identified. Over the falseta the bailaor can perform, as in alegrías, shuffling steps.
Carolina Carvajal, the United States

A falseta is a melody made by the guitar, which has deep feeling and which the bailaor uses to give free rein to his inspiration.
Rocío, Argentina

On guitar, falseta is a melodic phrase or flourish which is inserted between the chords accompanying a cante.
Around the corners of cante, /- fingerboard, camellia and wine - / the falseta looks, wind and fire. / From chilling depths, / clippings of water and beaten gold, / the falseta calls a stanza. / Amidst staffs of chords / and twisted river osiers / on the bridge of the immense rim / it tells its heart: come / come with me!
Augusto García Flores, Spain

Falseta is a melodic variation on the guitar which tells a little story, which answers a question by cante or baile and which ends with a final touch.
Jos Saelman, Holland

Falseta is a personal contribution, a momentary inspiration, an outburst of sensitivity, a hopeless necessity, a subtle 'aduendado' passage.
Eric van Santen, Holland

A falseta is a musical phrasing on the guitar.
Cassan Visser, Holland

Falseta is a melodic phrase which the tocaor performs when the cantaor falls silent, giving free rein to his personal inspiration and creating music loaded with fantasy.
Corinna, Italy
