Grand
finale pictures
The grand
finale is the finishing touch flamenco companies
put on their performances. Everyone standing as
close as possible to the crowd and forming a circle,
they improvise (it's true that sometimes it just
looks like it) cante and baile through bulerías
for a while. Sometimes, the roles are swapped: the
cantaor plays the guitar, the guitarist dances.
And jokes are also welcome, in contrast to the seriousness
prevailing during the performance. The bit of baile
by the non-bailaores is usually the highlight of
the finale, with ‘pataítas’ (little
kicks) now nearly more awaited than those of the
star bailaor. Since the grand finale photos nearly
always fail to appear in the reviews, here you have
this gallery authored by Daniel Muñoz with
those instants of freshness. The pictures come from
flamenco events as outstanding as the Jerez Festival,
Mont de Marsan Festival and Flamenco Pa Tos Festival,
and star artists of the likes of José Mercé,
Diego el Cigala, Matilde Coral, Antonio Canales,
Antonio el Pipa, Joaquín Grilo, Moraíto,
Pepa de Benito...
