Sara Melville dances a Solea at a Cancer Charity Benefit Concert in Cambridge
on 15 March 1999. Sara herself was recovering from major surgery and chemotherapy
at the time.
The solea
is the dance closest to Sara's heart, and here she takes the opportunity to use
it to express to the world why we dance and why we must keep dancing, regardless.

When I was
in the USAF, stationed in Germany from 1958-1961, I went on a holiday for 30 days.
While in Madrid I saw and heard Flamenco for the first time. The restaurant was
named "The Corral of Death". The enclosed photo is my favorite. I do not remember
the woman's name, but she was telling the life, loves, and deaths of matadors.
I was so hipnotized by the dancing and music, the first night I do not remember
what I ate, my aunt told me later. The second night I got permission to take some
snaps, as long as I did not use flash. I had never seen or heard Flamenco or even
taken photos of dance before this night. I ran out of film and had to buy some
from the owner of the restaurant. These photos started my career as a photojournalist.

e tiene Cadica Borghetti haciendo un solo com su esposo Renato Borghetti, conocido
acordeonista brasileño. na segunda foto, Ana Cristina Medeiros hace una coreografia
con Jerri Ribeiro. El fotografo es professor de fotografia en Porto Alegre e trabaja

Queridos Compadres, I am writing you tell you that I LOVE the Flamenco-World website
nearly as much as I love Flamenco! I am sending two pictures of some of the ladies
in our CityDance group (the JPEG with two women shows instructors Brandi Johnston
and Tracey Trambley performing). We are a city (vivo en la cuidad de Las Cruces)
sponsored dance school, and along with Flamenco we have instructors that teach
Ballet, Salsa, Ballet Folklorico, Tap and several other dances. Our most popular
class is Flamenco and students participate in at least two performances a year.
