Antonio
Malena and María del Mar Moreno premièred
the show ‘Jerez, Puro’ on 26th February
2005 as part of the 9th Festival de Jerez.
Flamenco-world.com followed the company in the run-up
to their performance, which won them the event's
Premio del Público. A time for nerves, for
fine-tuning, for technical details, for TV interviews,
and for art in its purest form... that, with this
kind of elite line-up, oozes from every corner of
the theater. Moraíto Chico, Fernando de la
Morena, Luis el Zambo, Juana la del Pipa, Luis de
Pacote, Luis de la Tota, Santiago Moreno, Andrés
Peña... a total of eighteen artists have
taken part in this project that María del
Mar Moreno and Antonio Malena plan to take around
the world, defending the essence of flamenco with
a Jerez hallmark.
