Estrella
Morente. Teatro Villamarta

Only
half of the Villamarta was full to welcome the cante and dance of the new and
old galaxies from Granada. First came Estrella with her microclimate with guitar
accompaniment. It was the first time she sang in Jerez and she brought her family
along to support her; to her left was Montoyita, a guitar player who has synthesized
more and more the chords by playing to the cantes of Enrique Morente. Of course
his daughter owes him almost everything, like for instance the many forms of cante
from Malaga with which she began, turning afterward to her right with vocal whirls
"por cartagenera" and "levantica": she complicates the most tangled up cantes
from Levante and mixes them even more by finishing them off with a song.

Montoyita
places the nut at chord number six. "Seguiriya". Tuning and force for difficult
molds, "baked" in his manner, a prodigy of high tunes and of changes in tune.
The voice performed with falls like her father's, and with her indicative movements
of the hand.

Montoyita
and Estrella created with their soft forms a type of flamenco of another dimension
that will have next autumn the releasing of its first album. The paused singing
of the girl from Granada, and such a personal performance of the "solea" thanks
to the follow up and later brilliance of the guitar player.

Her
show ended "por fiesta", with diverse "bulerias" including something from Jerez,
because of course there was a reason for the presence of Chicharito, the main
"palmero" (rhythmic hand clapper) of Jerez. She said goodbye for this time with
a short "pataita".
