Change of turns.
Concert at "La peña Los Juncales"
Speaking of "zambos",
it will be difficult to experience another flamenco assembly such as the one that
was held at the peña Los Juncales after the performance of Miguel Poveda.
The reunion was centered around the idol of the young Catalan cantaor, who is
none other than Luis el Zambo, and some of the local jewels like Moraito or Joaquin
Grilo could not resist the temptation of participating in the "juerga" (party).
Throughout this
week, the activities in the peñas have been few, partly due to the late-night
cantaor evenings; after the de la Morena family the fiesta continued, this time
with the "bulerias patriarcales" of the group of women belonging to the Peña
Tio Jose de Paula, who went from place to place all night. On the other hand,
the scheduled performance of the cantaor Jose Galvez at the Astoria cinema was
cancelled due to rain.
While waiting for
the start tomorrow of the cycle of conferences, we can already contemplate two
photography exhibitions, "Los ojos del flamenco" (The eyes of flamenco),
which are a set of portraits by Jeronimo Navarrete of Madrid, and "Baile
flamenco: la estetica del movimiento" (Flamenco dance: the aesthetics of
movement) by Juan Salido from Jerez. Finally, there will be a change in the order
of the schedule of courses of perfectionment of the dance skills, causing again
a shift in the activities of the participants.
