2004 Ciutat Vella Flamenco Festival

With innovation as the premise, the Ciutat Vella Flamenco Festival holds its eleventh edition. The festival, which is held from May 24th to 29th at Barcelona's Center for Contemporary Culture, combines Israel Galván's innovative baile with Juan de Juan's energetic baile; provides the venue for the encounter between flamenco and jazz orchestrated by Perico Sambeat and Gerardo Núñez in 'Cruce de caminos' ('Intersection'); and leaves room for the heterodox such as Diego Carrasco and singer-songwriter Javier Ruibal. In the five days of activities, flamenco will be seen from other perspectives in related activities such as exhibits, lectures, debates, workshops, market, film showings and chill out.
