Seville’s Bienal de Flamenco 2008 reveals its bill, created by photographer Ruvén Afanador

Seville’s fifteenth Bienal de Flamenco 2008 starts its countdown. And the first sign is the presentation of the bill which will be its emblem this year. The poster was created by Ruvén Afanador, a prestigious Colombian fashion photographer residing in New York. His camera has snapped shots of every Hollywood celebrity, every international top model and now, flamenco. He has already photographed jondo artists such as Esperanza Fernández, La Farruca, Eva Yerbabuena, Concha Vargas and Matilde Coral, who will form part of an extensive work he is preparing on women from the south of Spain. Carlos Saura, Tàpies, Luis Gordillo, Rafael Alberti and Antonio Saura are some of the prestigious artists who have created bills for the Sevillian festival.
