Flamenco-world.com, August 2004

Over the whole of summer, Cadiz offers a weekly date with flamenco as part of the 23rd edition of ‘Jueves Flamencos’. El Baluarte de la Candelaria, a 17th Century fort which now hosts cultural events, will come alive every 'Flamenco Thursday' in July and August, with seven group recitals of cante, toque and baile flamenco. The season, organized by Peña Enrique el Mellizo and Cadiz provincial council, will showcase specific approaches to flamenco characteristic of different points on the map such as Malaga, Triana, Utrera, Los Puertos, Jerez and, of course, Cadiz. Under the spotlight, then, will be leading artists like Chano Lobato, María del Mar Moreno, El Torta, Fernando Terremoto, El Capullo de Jerez and Aurora Vargas, as well as a long list of other established artists and promising newcomers.
