There’s still more Camarón to be discovered. Fifteen years after his death, previously unrecorded cantes continue to surface. ‘Reencuentro’ brings out another nine songs recorded by the cantaor from La Isla, among them, collaborations with other artists such as Joan Manuel Serrat, La Susi and Luis Monje. The CD is released in a limited-edition box set which also includes a silk-screen t-shirt, a sixteen-page booklet, five photographs and a documentary on DVD with live shows from the archives of Radio Televisión Española.

After discovering his early days at Venta de Vargas, enthusiasts and collectors once again have previously unreleased songs by Camarón at their reach. The limited-edition box set ‘Reencuentro’ offers nine cantes which hadn’t been released until now. The CD opens with tangos in which La Susi collaborates. It also includes ‘La saeta’ in a duo with Joan Manuel Serrat and the collaboration of the group Jarcha, as well as a soleá by El Chaqueta with Luis Monje on vocals.

The bulería ‘Hombre terrestre’, the Christmas carol ‘La virgen hizo una sopa’, the alegrías ‘A dibujar esa rosa’ and the bulerías ‘Soy fragüero’, accompanied by Tomatito on guitar, shape up the album. It closes with the martinete ‘Las doce acaban de dar’, to which the fandango ‘La víbora rabiosa’ is added as a bonus track.

The box set, which is only going to have 40,000 units manufactured, also includes a DVD with a documentary about Camarón in pictures and a selection of live shows of the cantaor’s best performances on Radio Televisión Española. A sixteen-page booklet explaining the contents, five historic photographs of the artist and a silk-screen t-shirt complete this pack ideal for fans and collectors.

Since Camarón died in 1992, his discography has increased with several new releases, besides compilations, a film, books and the box set ‘Integral’ with his entire work. In 1999 the live show ‘París 1987’ was released, in 2000 ‘Antología inédita’ came out and five years later, fifty minutes of recordings from his youth made at Venta de Vargas in Cádiz.
