Rafael Campallo crosses
the Atlantic on his new tour
Ramiro Navarro, Madrid
Sevillian bailaor Rafael
Campallo will go on a tour of the United States in October which will take
him to New York, Miami and Philadelphia. Also on his agenda for next month is
his scheduled participation in the Flamenco Festival of Monterrey, Mexico.
After having performed the show Rafael
Campallo and Young Flamencos at New York's Metropolitan Museum last March,
and having been to the Flamenco Days Festival in Telaviv, the bailaor again goes
over the border to surrender body and soul in four new dates on the American continent.
His first destination will be the Monterrey
Flamenco Festival on October 12th. Of his dates in the United States, the first
stop will be at The Perelman Theater in Philadelphia from the 15th to the 17th
and will go to perform at The Danny Kaye Playhouse in New York. The final date
is set for the Miami Festival, which will be held at Gusman Auditorium at the
University of Miami on October 24th.
The bailaor thus presents himself to audiences
on the opposite side of the Atlantic once more. Lands he set foot upon with his
recent show Rafael Campallo and Young Flamencos, and which he already knew
from Trilogy, a performance in Albuquerque, New Mexico in 2001, and from
the tour he went on with Vicente Amigo in 2002. Campallo took part in the Bienal
de Flamenco last year as guest artist in Juan Amaya's show, and participated in
the Mont Marsan Festival with the same show.
