Pitingo took a break from the tour introducing his new album ‘Malecón Street’ in order to have a rendezvous with his roots at the 3rd Catalunya Arte Flamenco. The Huelva-born cantaor appeared at the Joventut in L’Hospitalet de Llobregat on Friday, December 16th, 2011 with a classical cante recital. “All the rest is really nice, but I like doing these concerts every now and then, since classical cante is my roots”, the artist explained. Accompanied on guitar by Juan Carmona, he offered the audience a repertoire consisting of styles such as the soleares of Alcalá, alegrías, bulerías, malagueñas, tarantos and, of course, the fandangos coming from his native land: Huelva. With this performance, the Third Catalunya Arte Flamenco Series goes into its home stretch. Following a two-month program, the festival will be closed on January 12th, 2012 by Miguel Poveda at the Auditori in Barcelona. Mayte Martín, Estrella Morente, Duquende, Capullo de Jerez, Argentina, Chicuelo and Juan Ramón Caro, among others, have been the stars in this edition, dedicated to the memory of Enrique Morente. Tickets for the closing concert are now for sale. Further information at www.catalunyaarteflamenco.com
