Chano
Domínguez puts on stage his new album ‘Piano
Ibérico’. The concert tour starts in Spain,
with six performances between February and June. The musician
from Cádiz, icon of flamenco jazz, visits with this
new repertoire spaces such as the Auditorium Víctor
Villegas in Murcia, Auditorio de Zaragoza, Teatro Manuel
de Falla in Cádiz and the Auditorium Niemeyer in
Avilés, among others. After this first tour, he will
continue touring Europe, America and Spain during 2011.
The pianist has already offered a premiere at the 40th Festival
de Jazz San Juan Evangelista past November, 2010. And he
did it in a quartet format, with singing, drumming and dancing.
The concert is made of versions of Spanish classical composers
such as Falla, Albeniz, Granados and Mompou, whom he considered
“the first flamenco pianists because they knew how
to collect the soul of popular music”.
