Jesús Corbacho débuts with the flamenco cante album ‘Debajo del romero’

Flamenco cante continues to acquire fresh vigor. Now it is young Huelva-born cantaor Jesús Corbacho who releases his first disc. On ‘Debajo del romero’, the artist shows his qualities as a cantaor by tackling a varied repertoire of styles. Malagueñas, seguiriyas, guajira, soleá, zambra, cantiñas, milonga, tangos, bulerías and the characteristic fandangos of his native land are part of the repertoire. And he performs it together with the guitars of Juan Requena and Óscar Lago - who have acted as the album’s producers - plus other instrumentalists such as violinist Manuel Parrilla, bass player Antonio Ramos ‘Maca’ and percussionists El Pájaro and Ramón Porrina. With this disc, he takes a step forward in his career, which until now had focused on accompanying baile. Over the past few years, his voice has been called upon in shows presented at international festivals like ‘Turquesa como el limón’ by Rocío Molina, ‘Dibujos’ by Belén Maya and the memorable ‘Mujeres’ directed by Mario Maya.
