José Antonio Rodríguez inaugurates the Córdoba Guitar Festival with a premiere concert

The festival, to be held in July, hosts a series featuring flamenco guitar

Flamenco-world.com, June 2006

‘Córdoba... en el tiempo’. That’s how guitarist José Antonio Rodríguez has named the concert with which he is to inaugurate the 2006 Córdoba Guitar Festival. After this premiere on the main stage of the Gran Teatro, a varied agenda of flamenco concerts and of other musical genres will follow from July 3rd to 15th, 2006. Highlighting the flamenco section are the concerts by Gerardo Núñez and by Tomatito with Michel Camilo, as well as the series with tocaores such as Pedro Sierra, Miguel Ángel Cortés and Jerónimo. Though the stress is on guitar, there will also be baile by companies such as those of Mario Maya and Antonio el Pipa. Standing out in the training section is the course directed by Manolo Sanlúcar. This edition of the festival coincides with the celebration of the Year of Flamenco in Córdoba.
