Flamenco guitar,
dancing and cante students have a new training rendezvous.
The 2011 Córdoba Guitar Festival, which is to be
held from July 5th to 16th, schedules its annual courses.
Although different guitar disciplines are studied, flamenco
has a special role. Fifty students will be able to attend
the course ‘Naturaleza y forma de la guitarra flamenca’
(‘Nature and Form of Flamenco Guitar’) taught
by instructors Manolo
Sanlúcar -who also accepts auditors-, José
Antonio Rodríguez, Paco Serrano and Manolo Franco.
The dancing courses, which include a free ticket to the
shows, extend their range of “subjects”: Inmaculada
Aguilar will focus on the bata de cola, Javier Latorre on
choreographic construction, Antonio el Pipa on Jerez bulerías
and Rocío Molina on baile por taranto. The cante
course includes two complementary lessons: maestro Calixto
Sánchez will deal with vocal technique and Arcángel,
rhythm. In total, there are 150 places offered in the specialty
of flamenco. Registration will be carried out at the festival’s
official website beginning on March 21st: www.guitarracordoba.com
