Lorca reaches Paris wrapped in baile and music. Cristina Hoyos Flamenco Ballet will present ‘Poema del cante jondo’ at the Palais de Congrès in the French capital from November 29th to December 3rd, 2011. The show by the veteran Sevillian bailaora and choreographer, with José Carlos Plaza as stage director and Pedro Sierra as music director, is structured around four groups of verses from that 1921 poetry collection, “the ones dedicated to the essences of cante jondo: seguiriya, soleá, saeta and petenera”. And all of it, mixed with some of the folk songs recorded by the poet together with La Argentinita, is framed on the mythical stage with “crystal lamps and green mirrors” which was the Café de Chinitas.
