Flamenco-world.com, August 2nd, 2011
Flamenco-world.com is ‘Cultura en Positivo’ (‘Culture Positively’). The leading flamenco website joins a list of companies devoted to music, cinema, art, video games and digital books that have obtained the Ministry of Culture’s stamp for the legal offer of digital contents. The official graphic seal identifies companies that offer digital contents respecting intellectual property rights. Flamenco-world.com, winner of the 2010 Andalusia Journalism Award, has been developing a pioneer project since 1997 on the Internet specializing in the international coverage of information, products, services and multimedia contents related to the latest in flamenco. The website receives an average of one million unique visits per month from all over the world.
Flamenco-world.com now dons the ‘Cultura en Positivo’ logo. As the Ministry of Culture explains, the seal is “an indication which shows that behind a brand or a specific product, there is a commitment to respect intellectual property rights and to the industrial work chain of the organizations that sustain them. Moreover, the stamp guarantees access to quality contents and to safe pages”.
Daniel Muñoz, director of Flamenco-world.com, affirms that “Cultura en Positivo is a concept parallel to the philosophy of our website, which we’ve always considered to be another part of flamenco’s professional framework, working on its coverage, promotion and knowledge”. And he explains that “we take it as really good news that an effort is being made by public institutions to value digital media related to culture and there is an attempt to fight against the demonization of everything related to Internet. It’s a necessary step to make it known that behind many websites there are professionals working side by side with the authors, every day offering a service indispensable to the public and to the industry”.
The leading flamenco website thus joins a list of companies devoted to music, cinema, art, video games and digital books which have already obtained the seal, among them, EMI Music, Motion Pictures, Filmotech and Meca. And that makes it linked to the institutional websites Culturaenpositivo.es and Españaescultura.es. Flamenco-world.com, winner of the
2010 Andalusia Journalism Award, thus broadens its reach and international prestige. The website, founded in 1997, is the most visited and best valued one in its specialty. With an international influx reaching one million unique users per month, it has become the best ally for enthusiasts, artists, communicators, institutions and companies which flamenco moves worldwide.
