Duquende premieres his new album,
‘Mi forma de vivir’

The much-awaited new record by
Duquende
is about to see the light. ‘Mi forma de vivir’
(‘My Way of Living’) is scheduled to come out
on the market this October. The album, produced by Chicuelo,
will include tangos by Paco de Lucía, as well as
bulerías, fandangos, soleares and tanguillos. Collaborating
with the Catalan cantaor are musicians such as Carles Benavent,
Piraña and Juaneke.

Some of the tracks on this third album,
which comes five years after ‘Samaruco’, are
going to have an advance premiere on Friday, September 16th,
2005 at the Mercat de Música Viva World Music Festival
in the town of Vic near Barcelona. Chicuelo, Juaneke, Miguel
Lavis and José Santiago accompany the artist in this
performance. Duquende is also scheduled to perform on September
24th at Plaza de la Catedral (Cathedral Square) in Barcelona
and on October 1st in the ‘Noches gitanas’ (‘Gypsy
Nights’) series at Madrid's Teatro Español
(Spanish Theater).
Duquende combines his solo work with Paco
de Lucía's tour. The cantaor is a member of the
guitar maestro's band and collaborates on his latest album,
‘Cositas buenas’. Their upcoming performances
in September are at the Málaga Bullring on Saturday
the 17th, in Budapest, Hungary on Monday the 19th, at Madrid's
Las Ventas Bullring on Thursday the 22nd and on Friday the
30th in Castellón at the Palacio de Congresos (Convention
Center) Auditorium.
