The latest trends in flamenco dancing travel all around the world. And a varied selection of the newest ones gathers at the 2011 Tanzhaus Flamenco Festival in the German city of Dusseldorf. The festival, active since 1990, holds this edition from April 14th to 25th with the expectation of drawing over three thousand spectators. The lure is a program which has room for shows such as ‘Bailes alegres para personas tristes’ by Belén Maya, ‘La puerta abierta’ by Isabel Bayón and ‘Tripolar’ by Marco Vargas and Chloé Brûlé, among others.

‘Bailes alegres para personas tristes’, a show by bailaora Belén Maya with Olga Pericet as guest artist, opens the 2011 Tanzhaus NRW Flamenco Festival with performances on April 14th and 15th. The program continues on April 16th with a flamenco baile recital by young Granada-born bailaora Patricia Guerrero. The following night, Juan Carlos Lérida displays the contemporary show ‘Al toque’.

On April 21st and 22nd, Isabel Bayón presents ‘La puerta abierta’ together with cantaor José Valencia and guitarist Jesús Torres. Following their recent premiere at the Teatro Central in Seville, the duo consisting of Marco Vargas and Chloé Brûlé, with cantaor Juan José Amador as guest artist, offers their new production ‘Tripolar’. The close on April 25th stars the company of Sevillian bailaor Felipe Mato with the show ‘Calle Sierpes’.
