Estrella Morente once again crosses the Atlantic Ocean. But not to return to New York; rather, to premiere in new territories. The Granada-born cantaora will perform for the first time in three South American countries: Brazil, Argentina and Chile. The tour opens at the Festival Porto Alegre em Cena 2011, where she shares the bill with international vocalists like Maria João and Marianne Faithfull. The recitals, which are announced as “Estrella’s first encounter with the Brazilian audience”, will be on September 24th and 25th at the Teatro do Bourbon Country. On September 26th the cantaora will be in the capital of Argentina, where she is to take part in the 2011 International Festival of Buenos Aires (FIBA) with a concert at the Teatro Coliseo. Through a collaboration agreement, this same festival spreads to Chile, where she will perform on September 27th at the Teatro Las Condes in the capital. The cantaora, who has gone on a tour of Spain and around Europe this season, will continue with her agenda in October, with a concert at the Kursaal in San Sebastián (on the 19th), and in November, with stopovers in Slovenia, Turkey and Barcelona.
