Flamenco Festival, now an ineludible event on the winter cultural scenes in New York and London, consolidates itself in Paris and is presented for the first time in Brussels. With this new headquarters and following the success achieved last year in China and Australia, the festival firms up its vocation to spread worldwide. This year it will hold its eighth edition in New York and the fifth in London, besides visiting the Canadian city of Montreal.

The United States. Flamenco Festival’s strength is measured in the United States. New York will become the hub of flamenco in the United States from February 8th to 24th, 2008. With cante and baile as its two main backbones, it will offer galas at Town Hall and the City Center, respectively: ‘Cuatro esquinas’, which will join the masterful voices of Carmen Linares and Miguel Poveda; and ‘Mujeres’, a dance gala directed by Mario Maya which combines three visions of flamenco dancing by Merche Esmeralda, Belén Maya and Rocío Molina, with the special collaboration of Diana Navarro. The musical part is completed with Tomatito on guitar, Son de la Frontera and Diana Navarro on vocals, who will present her personal vision of the copla at Jazz at Lincoln Center. Eva Yerbabuena will put the icing on the cake at the City Center with her show ‘Santo y seña’, which she will tour with in diverse cities in the United States and Canada, championing the Flamenco Festival On Tour.
