Vicente Amigo opens Flamenco Festival London 2012 with ‘Paseo de Gracia’

Even though baile is the indisputable star of flamenco festivals, guitar is making its way. Vicente Amigo returns to Sadler’s Wells, opening with the contents of his latest album ‘Paseo de Gracia’ this new edition of the London festival, which is to be held from February 7th to 19th. Next, baile takes the stage with shows like ‘Suspiro flamenco’ by Manuela Carrasco, ‘Rosa, metal, ceniza’ by Olga Pericet, ‘Travesía’ by Carmen Cortés & Gerardo Núñez, ‘Fuenteovejuna’ by the Antonio Gades Company, ‘Poeta en Nueva York’ by Rafael Amargo and the Flamenco Gala which joins Pericet, Carrasco and Cortés. And cante will be the one to put the icing on the cake of the now consolidated flamenco event in London, with José Mercé in concert. The complementary activities are highlighted by the concert of eclectic singer La Shica presenting her latest album ‘Supercop’ at Lilian Baylis Theater and an open class by members of the Gades Company at St. Pancras Railway Station.
