Flamenco Viene del Sur 2012 proposes a circuit with over fifty performances throughout Andalusia

Flamenco Viene del Sur holds its fifteenth edition. And it does so with a program of more than fifty cante, baile and toque performances. The series, organized by the Junta de Andalucía Culture Council, is to be held from February 27th to July 11th, 2012. ‘Metáfora’ by Ballet Flamenco de Andalucía, ‘Vinática’ by Rocío Molina, ‘Tránsito’ by Marco Flores, ‘Mosaicos’ by Leonor Leal and ‘Danzacalí’ by Antonio el Pipa, together with a tribute to the Sevillian School, are some of the baile shows on the bill. Guitar is represented by Diego del Morao with ‘Orate’, Josemi Carmona with ‘Las pequeñas cosas’, Gerardo Núñez with ‘A tientos’, Niño de Pura, José Antonio Rodríguez and Juan Carlos Romero, among others. The cantaor voices which will be heard on this circuit are those of Mayte Martín, El Torta, Esperanza Fernández, Jesús Méndez, Rosario la Tremendita, Guillermo Cano, José de la Tomasa and Rocío Márquez, among others. The Teatro Central in Seville, Teatro Alhambra in Granada, Teatro Cánovas in Málaga, Auditorio Maestro Padilla and Teatro Apolo in Almería, Teatro Darymelia in Jaén, Gran Teatro and Teatro Góngora in Córdoba, and Las Cocheras del Puerto in Huelva are the stages that will host the 32 shows of this new selection which, according to councilman Paulino Plata, “responds to the criteria of orthodoxy and avant-garde, equality or experience and youth expressed in the public convocation”.
