Tomasito, Raimundo Amador and Antonio Rancapino lay stakes on musical miscegenation at Dakar’s 2009 Afroflamenco Festival. The capital of Senegal is going to experience a unique musical encounter on June 5th. These three artists from the more heterodox side of today’s flamenco will dialogue at Dakar’s Obelisk Square with leading figures of African music such as Sidy Samb, Omar Pene, Cheikh Tidiane Tall and Carlou D. The organizers, the Spanish Embassy in Senegal and Dakar Culture, expect some ten thousand spectators to attend this show with free admission which seeks to “show the artistic potential of cultural miscegenation”.
