presents her début album, sheltered by Arcángel.
The Huelva-born cantaora premiered her first album at the tablao
Casa Patas in Madrid on June 20th, 2006. Accompanied by José
Quevedo on toque – also the record’s producer -
she performed several songs, among them, the bulerías
‘El árbol’, the alegrías ‘Se
lleva el aire’ and the tangos ‘Jirones de tela’.
Following these tunes with choruses and clapping, she finished
the performance alone with the guitar, por soleá and
Huelva fandangos. She thus illustrated the words devoted to
her before she started singing by Arcángel, happy that
“finally my native land, which has always been pigeonholed
in fandangos, is showing it can produce artists who can build
a career in full-fledged flamenco”.
