El Barrio con el disco de platino por 'Las playas de invierno'

Flamenco singer-songwriter El Barrio celebrates the first ten years of his musical career with the compilation ‘Toda una década’. The Cádiz-born musician presented his new double album with twenty-six songs at a venue in Madrid on October 31st, 2006, during a ceremony in which he was given the platinum record for the 140,000 copies sold of ‘Las playas de invierno’ and the gold record for the 50,000 copies sold of ‘Toda una década’ in a single day. El Barrio closes his tour this season on November 4th at the Palau Sant Jordi with a concert whose royalties will be donated to the Gomaespuma Foundation and the Theodora Foundation. Since he made his début in 1996 with ‘Yo sueno flamenco’, El Barrio has sold over 600,000 discos, which have earned five gold records and two platinum records, and has performed before over one million people
