Spain's National Ballet turns 25 years old. Sara
Baras, Javier Barón, Joaquín Grilo, Javier Latorre, Víctor Monge Serranito...
were a few of the flamenco figures attending on Tuesday, December 9th, 2003 to
celebrate the 25th anniversary of Spain's National Ballet at its headquarters
located at the former slaughterhouses in Madrid. According to Elvira Andrés, its
current director, and Andrés Amorós, director of the National Institute of the
Performing Arts and Music, the company has become consolidated in this period
as "one of the best ambassadors of Spain in the world, since music and dance are
universal languages".
