Caja Madrid dresses up its twelfth festival.
Paco Cepero, El Pele and Antonio el Pipa backed the presentation ceremony of the 2004 Caja Madrid Festival, which will be held at Madrid's Albéniz Theater from February 17th to 21st. Also attending the presentation was writer Félix Grande, who argued in favor of flamenco poetry. Paco Cepero, who this year receives the Calle de Alcalá award, expressed his gratitude for the prize, "which I get at a time of maturity, eight years after leaving Madrid". Antonio el Pipa dedicated his performance to Teresa Vico, the recently-deceased director of the Albéniz Theater, because "she always knew how to appreciate my work at a time when baile's fashion was going in another direction". With these words they wrapped a festival which "puts its money on the variety of expressions", highlighted this year by the performance of Estrella Morente.
