Antonio
Canales sponsors new talents in flamenco dancing in ‘Los
grandes’. The Sevillian bailaor and choreographer
once again surrounds himself with new blood. In the new show ‘Los
grandes’, which he presents at Madrid’s Teatro Gran
Vía from February 6th to 11th, 2007, he makes room for
four young performers somewhere between flamenco and today’s
Spanish ballet. Pastora
Galván– who presented her own show ‘La
Francesa’ on the same stage a few days ago -, Nani Paños,
Mayte Bajo and Amador display their work in four solos framed
by touches of baile by the master of ceremonies, Antonio Canales.
The music, directed by guitarist Jesús de Rosario and flutist
Juan Parrilla, is played on stage by fourteen performers, between
string instruments, wood instruments, percussions and cante. ‘Los
grandes’ is part of the bill of the series Andalucía
Flamenca 2007, which offers a permanent flamenco program in the
Spanish capital until March 4th.
