en Flamenco 2007. Cañizares
pays tribute to Albéniz at Gibralfaro Castle.
Within the walls of the fortress in Málaga, the flamenco
guitarist revealed the contents of his latest album, ‘Suite
Iberia’, for which he has adapted the entire original
score to the guitar. Accompanied by his group, he performed
pieces such as ‘El Albaicín’, just as he
did in August at Blue Note Tokyo. The concert by Cañizares
knocked the series ‘Siete discos’ up a notch, in
which appearances have already been made by cantaora Encarna
Anillo with ‘Barcas de Plata’ and Calixto
Sánchez with ‘Andando el camino’.
