Antonio Carrión swaps guitar for cante on the album ‘Un sueño con mi gente’. Everyone knows him in flamenco for his solid career accompanying the cante of figures such as Chocolate, José Menese and Chano Lobato. However, he reveals himself as a cantaor on this album. And he does so in grand fashion, gathering today’s most select guitarists. Enrique de Melchor, Moraíto Chico, Manolo Franco, Paco Cortés and Pedro Sierra, among others, contribute their guitar playing to this recording. Also participating are musicians like violinist Alexis Lefèvre, bass player Manolo Nieto, and as a special collaboration, La Tobala. The repertoire covers a wide range of styles, from the tangos ‘Se me cayó tu pañuelo’ to the seguiriyas dedicated to Chocolate, with the soleá por bulerías ‘Maestro Melchor’, romance, fandangos de Huelva, the soleá ‘Compare Menese’, malagueña and the final bulerías ‘Toda una vida’ in between.
