Flamenco guitarist
Daniel
Casares goes on tour with mezzo-soprano Cecilia
Bartoli. The Málaga-born guitarist, who has
just released the album ‘Caballero’, has joined
the Italian singer’s European tour as a guest artist.
The tocaor’s collaboration stems from one of the songs
on the album which the singer has dedicated to María
Malibrán (1808-1836), the first opera diva who was Sevillian.
The score in question is entitled ‘Yo que soy contrabandista’,
written by Manuel García, Malibrán’s father
and a reputed tenor, who has a deep connection with flamenco.
Daniel Casares not only accompanies Cecilia Bartoli on her tour
of the main theaters on the European opera circuit, but also
in the promotional video which was recently recorded in Barcelona,
before the show at the Palau de la Música in which the
guitarist and singer coincided on stage for the first time.
