Chano Domínguez presents his new album ‘New Flamenco Sound’ at the 2006 Madrid Jazz Festival. The Cádiz-born flamenco jazz pianist Chano Domínguez inaugurates the Madrilenian festival on November 3rd at the Spanish capital’s Centro Cultural de la Villa with the live show of his new album. The project, which saw the light for the first time in the Sevillian series Jazz Viene del Sur 2005, includes the participation of musicians such as Tomasito, Blas Córdoba, Marc Miralta and Llibert Fortuny, among others. The twenty-third edition of the Madrilenian festival also has other flamenco jazz stars such as Jorge Pardo, who is to perform with the group D’3 on November 19th, also at the Centro Cultural de la Villa. There will also be a glimpse of certain touches of flamenco in the concert by Martirio with the Kenny Drew Jr. Trio on November 11th and in the collaboration Antonio Carmona and La Barbería will carry out with Cuban Raúl Paz & The New Jazz Cubacombo on November 15th. Appearing at this jazz festival with over two decades of existence have been flamenco figures of the likes of Paco de Lucía, Tomatito and Gerardo Núñez.
