Domínguez presents his new album ‘New Flamenco
Sound’ at the 2006 Madrid Jazz Festival. The
Cádiz-born flamenco jazz pianist Chano Domínguez
inaugurates the Madrilenian festival on November 3rd at the
Spanish capital’s Centro Cultural de la Villa with the
live show of his new album. The project, which saw the light
for the first time in the Sevillian series Jazz Viene del Sur
2005, includes the participation of musicians such as Tomasito,
Blas Córdoba, Marc Miralta and Llibert Fortuny, among
others. The twenty-third edition of the Madrilenian festival
also has other flamenco jazz stars such as Jorge
Pardo, who is to perform with the group D’3 on November
19th, also at the Centro Cultural de la Villa. There will also
be a glimpse of certain touches of flamenco in the concert by
Martirio with the Kenny Drew Jr. Trio on November 11th and in
the collaboration Antonio Carmona and La Barbería will
carry out with Cuban Raúl Paz & The New Jazz Cubacombo
on November 15th. Appearing at this jazz festival with over
two decades of existence have been flamenco figures of the likes
of Paco de Lucía, Tomatito and Gerardo Núñez.
