Chico Ocaña reinvents flamenco billy with the album ‘Canciones de mesa camilla’. The former leader of the group Mártires del Compás makes his solo début with an album on which “the songs and lyrics are in charge”. The personal rumbas ‘Mentiras de verdad’, ‘CCC’ and ‘30 metros’, the mixture of bulería, soleá, blues and swing which is ‘Arena en el reloj’, the fandango alosnero which closes ‘De calle’, ‘Sevillanas de la luz propia’, the tanguillos ‘Esquina rincón’ and ‘Alegrías sin sal’ are, among other songs, part of the repertoire of the album, whose cover is by Carlos Pacheco. The singer-songwriter’s voice is only accompanied by two Spanish guitars, bass and percussion.
