Concha Jareño stars in the 2009 Brazil Flamenco Festival. Shortly after concluding her special collaboration in the premiere of ‘Flamenco Hoy’ by Carlos Saura, the Madrilenian bailaora left for the lands of America. Until September 18th, the eighth edition of the (2009) Brazil Flamenco Festival is being held, in which she is a main figure not just on different stages, but also in classrooms in the cities of São Jose dos Campos, Campinas and São Paulo. The show she presents is “a new traditional show in which I perform farruca and caracoles, besides the milonga from ‘Algo’”, the show with which she won the Revelation Prize at Festival de Jerez 2009. She is accompanied by Córdoba-born cantaor Pedro Obregón and Brazilian guitarist Flavio Rodrigues on a tour which concludes on September 17th at the headquarters of the Instituto Cervantes in São Paulo. In the months ahead, the bailaora is scheduled to take this show to Hong Kong (October 28th), the Belgian city of Ghent (October 14th) and Amsterdam (February 14th). At the same time, she is in the phase of creating a new production.
