Rafael Estévez & Fuensanta la Moneta: a flamenco dancing duo to start up Veranos del Corral 2009. The bailaora and bailaor got together for the first time to inaugurate in grand fashion the flamenco showcase which has been held for the past ten years at the Al-Andalusian corn exchange in the historical quarter in Granada. Following this mighty face-off on Monday, July 20th, the stage remained open. They were followed by another tandem, Andrés Peña and Pilar Ogalla, and the first week of shows was completed by Cádiz-born Rosario Toledo and Córdoba-born Olga Pericet. Until Granada-born Manuel Liñán provides the final touch on August 14th, this forum is to host performances by bailaoras of the likes of Pastora Galván, new talents such as Patricia Guerrero, El Choro and Leonor Leal, bailaores as personal as Ramón Martínez and Rafael de Carmen, consolidated guitarists like Miguel Ángel Cortés and Alfredo Lagos, and voices as weighty as those of La Susi and Cancanilla. A schedule of live shows which is complemented with the courses organized by Taller Flamenco, with La Moneta, Manuel Liñán, Patricia Guerrero and Manolete as maestros.
