David Lagos closes Suma Flamenca 2010’s series ‘Vallekas, capital flamenca’. The Jerez-born cantaor put the finishing touch on the bill of recitals in a traditional format by up-and-coming cante voices, held at the Pilar Miró Cultural Center from June 5th to 13th, also including the participation of David Palomar, Jesús Corbacho and Raquel Villar. Accompanied on toque by Alfredo Lagos and on percussion by Perico Navarro, he performed classical cantes like soleá por bulerías, seguiriyas and malagueñas, recalling maestros such as Antonio Chacón. And moreover, he stuck into the concert some of the songs from his first solo album ‘El espejo en que me miro’ like ‘Sólo la guitarra sabe’ - a tribute to Antonio el Sevillano - and the alegrías ‘Sal de Cai’ dedicated to Chano Lobato. During the present season, besides collaborating with Israel Galván in ‘La edad de oro’, David Lagos has presentations of his album scheduled at forums such as Bienal de Flamenco de Sevilla 2010, where he is to perform on Sunday, September 19th.
