Eva
Durán makes her début with a fusion album
between flamenco and Argentinean tango. The Málaga-born
cantaora launches her first album ‘Por tango’, a
project conceived by the instigators of ‘Chanson flamenca’
and ‘Ana Salazar canta a Edith Piaf’. Just like
artists of the genre have done over the past few months such
as Estrella Morente and Miguel Poveda, Eva Durán sifts
classic tunes from Buenos Aires such as ‘Volver’
and ‘Nostalgia’ through bulerías and flamenco
tangos. Both were performed by the artist at the presentation
of this first record held on the afternoon of May 16th, 2006
at the Madrid headquarters of the Sociedad General de Autores
Españoles (General Society of Spanish Authors), in the
company of musicians who take part in the recording: Josete
Ordóñez on guitar, Cuco Pérez on accordion,
Carlos Ibáñez on contrabass and Pablo Martín
on box drum.
