Esperanza
Fernández takes part in the Santo Domingo Music Festival,
in the wake of her Italian tour. The Seville-born cantaora
will perform ‘El amor brujo’ on 12th March 2005
at the Dominican Republic's National Theater, located in the
capital city of the island, as part of the Festival Musical
de Santo Domingo. Accompanying her will be the National Symphony
Orchestra directed by maestro Philippe Entremont. The festival,
this year dedicated to Spain, will also see performances by
soprano Teresa Berganza, classical guitarist José María
Gallardo, and the Antonio Márquez company. Esperanza
Fernández just got back from a seven concert tour of
Italy, where she sang ‘El amor brujo’ and ‘Siete
canciones españolas’ by Manuel de Falla in Palermo,
Turin, Fano, Spezia, Bologna, Lugo and Arezzo. She also made
a recent appearance at the Festival
Caja Madrid, in a joint recital with pianist Dorantes.
