Esperanza Fernández takes part in the Santo Domingo Music Festival, in the wake of her Italian tour. The Seville-born cantaora will perform ‘El amor brujo’ on 12th March 2005 at the Dominican Republic's National Theater, located in the capital city of the island, as part of the Festival Musical de Santo Domingo. Accompanying her will be the National Symphony Orchestra directed by maestro Philippe Entremont. The festival, this year dedicated to Spain, will also see performances by soprano Teresa Berganza, classical guitarist José María Gallardo, and the Antonio Márquez company. Esperanza Fernández just got back from a seven concert tour of Italy, where she sang ‘El amor brujo’ and ‘Siete canciones españolas’ by Manuel de Falla in Palermo, Turin, Fano, Spezia, Bologna, Lugo and Arezzo. She also made a recent appearance at the Festival Caja Madrid, in a joint recital with pianist Dorantes.
