'Bailaora' Exhibits by Daniel Muñoz at L'Escorxador de Elche
(Photo Centro de Cultura Contemporánea L'Escorxador)

Photographer Daniel Muñoz exhibits ‘Bailaora’ at the L’Escorxador Contemporary Culture Center in Elche. Manuela Carrasco in a sculptural pose, Concha Jareño haunted by her ghosts, Rocío Molina and Belén Maya researching movement, María Pagés and her shawl taking flight, La Uchi’s wise regard at rest... are just some of the many snapshots included in this exhibit dedicated to female flamenco dancing. The photographs come from a very extensive archive which the author has put together in the last decade for the digital magazine Flamenco-world.com at festivals in Spain, France, Great Britain and Holland. ‘Bailaora’ is on exhibit from March 13th to May 13th, 2009 at the L’Escorxador Contemporary Culture Center in Elche (Alicante, Spain), accompanied by a piece of electronic music created for the occasion by Artomatico. During this season, Muñoz has exhibited his photographs at venues such as the Bimhuis in Amsterdam (Holland), The Barclay Theatre in Irvine (California) and the Roman temple Maison Carrée in Nîmes (France).
