Flamencojazz Company debuts with the album 'Nikela'. The band, derivated from Pedro Ojesto's piano quintet, integrates two young talents of flamenco singing: Israel Fernández and Miguel de la Tolea. They are joined by the guitar of David Cerreduela -Cañorroto’s musician, who is well known for his playing accompaning Canales, Morente and Sara Baras-, bass Josemi Garzón, and Cuban drums and percussions by Fernando Favier. Together they perform their own compositions, based on the encounter of traditional flamenco and modern jazz. This first album offers ten tracks, including the soleá 'Blue in Green', the tangos ‘Barquero’, the bulerías ‘Yepa’, the jaleos ‘Bella Cali’... and songs with social content such as ‘Los niños soldado’ (‘Child soldiers’). As special guests the group has the collaborations of composer Juan Antonio Salazar, Luis Pastor as lyricist, and the singer Montse Cortés performing the tangos ‘Caracolillo’. In their live shows, the band incorporates dancers Pol Vaquero and David Paniagua.
