Flamenco displays
its variety at the 2006 Guadalajara Book Fair. Large-format
baile, an orthodox cante recital, small-format baile, flamenco
pop, flamenco-style copla... At the same time as Andalusian literature
is displayed at the stands and lectures, flamenco takes advantage
of La Explanada’s showcase to display its diversity. Following
the inaugural show by the Ballet Flamenco de Andalucía
and the performance by Carmen Linares, on Tuesday the 28th it
was orthodox baile’s turn in a ‘tablao’ format
put forth by Antonio el Pipa. The next day, a string of tangent
proposals: Niña
Pastori, Martirio and Kiko Veneno. And the lineup relapses
in these mestizo offers on Thursday the 30th, with performances
by Chambao, Tomasito and Diego Carrasco.
